Estes has informed us that any shipments over 12 Ft or 10,000 lbs. will be rated as a VLTL (Volume Less Than Truckload) quote. Unfortunately, MyCarrier is unable to rate both LTL and VLTL at the same time.

If your shipment size is over 12 Ft or 10,000 lbs. we recommend running this quote as VLTL rather than LTL. This will give you the most accurate rates based on the size of the shipment!

Additional Info:

We have received the following information from the Estes team -

The Estes Guaranteed service is on an older algorithm that tends to overestimate the Linear Feet when there are multiple rows of dims entered. Each new dimension begins a new row on the trailer. As a result, the various pallets listed in the quote are effectively placed end-to-end and result in over 12’.

Because MyCarrier requires dims and the Estes algorithm is prone to overestimate, the Estes team has provided us with a workaround. While not ideal, the workaround is to enter all dims as 1x1x1 and rerun the quote. It is vital the customer is certain the freight will not actually be over 12’! That will effectively be like running the rate on the Estes LTL rater with only class and weight, and the Guaranteed rate should populate.
